MALAYBALAY CITY NEWS – A suspect, who turned out to be a wanted man in Malaybalay City, was nabbed Friday in Bayugan, Agusan del Sur. Pedro Codaste, said to be Caraga’s no. 1 most wanted person, was arrested during a checkpoint in the said area. Codaste is allegedly a New People’s Army leader and is wanted for a number of killings in Malaybalay City.
Codaste was on his way to Butuan City to visit his family when authorities arrested him. He was with 4 other male companions.
Police say that Codaste is an NPA front secretary.
Codaste denied the allegations, however. He will be brought to Bukidnon next week, where charges will be filed against him.
There is a P400,000 reward for Codaste’s arrest.
