The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested 7 suspects and seized more than Php 5.5 million worth of alleged adulterated, unlabeled, and unregistered cooking oil during simultaneous operations in Valencia City, Bukidnon.
The operations were conducted on June 18, 2026, at around 11 AM in a warehouse and a store in Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City. CIDG units from Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro carried out the raids together with representatives from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local police units.
Authorities said the suspects, all of legal age and residents of Bukidnon, were allegedly caught selling and distributing recycled, unlabeled, unregistered, and adulterated cooking oil.

At the warehouse, CIDG Bukidnon seized one tank containing approximately 15,000 liters of cooking oil, 1,478 gallons, and 355 repacked plastic containers, valued at Php 4,326,672. Meanwhile, CIDG Cagayan de Oro confiscated two tanks containing about 9,700 liters, 100 containers of 15 liters each, and 175 repacked plastic containers, with an estimated value of Php 1,200,000.
CIDG said the tanks and warehouse had no certificate, permit, or license to operate from the FDA.
CIDG Director Robert Morico II reminded the public that the manufacture, sale, distribution, or transfer of food products without proper FDA registration and authorization is prohibited under Republic Act No. 9711, or the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.
He also stressed that selling substandard cooking oil violates food safety standards and poses risks since the products did not undergo FDA evaluation.
The CIDG commended its Regional Field Unit 10, along with the Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro field units, for the successful operation. The agency also urged the public to remain vigilant when buying food products and to report suspicious activities in their communities.
