First on BukidnonOnline.com – Senator Kiko Pangilinan visits Sumilao farmers, meets with San Miguel, Del Monte officials

FIRST ON BUKIDNONONLINE.COM – Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is in Bukidnon today, May 27, 2011 to pay the Sumilao farmers a visit.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan is also set to tour the Sumilao hog farm and cassava processing plant owned by San Miguel Foods, Inc. and meet with Del Monte officials to discuss the status of the pineapple industry.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan kicked off his Bukidnon visit today with an interaction with Sumilao farmer-leaders. Pangilinan was given a tour of the cassava plantation and he also harvested cassava plants.

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan was also given a tour of the Sumilao hog farm and of the cassava processing plant in Manolo Fortich (called “assembler” or the bagsakan area for tons of cassava which are later on processed into granules as feeds and starch).

In a few hours, Pangilinan and the rest of his party will meet with officials of Del Monte. They are set to discuss updates with regard to the pineapple industry.
