Bukidnon schools become recipients of books from Del Monte Foundation and The Asia Foundation

BUKIDNON SCHOOLS | BUKIDNON ONLINE | BUKIDNON NEWS – The Asia Foundation, along with the Del Monte Foundation Incorporated, recently distributed some 12,600 new children’s books to various schools all over the Province of Bukidnon. Del Monte partnered up with The Asia Foundation’s “Books for Asia” program.

Nearly 250 public elementary schools in Baungon, Manolo Fortich, Sumilao, Impasug-ong, Maramag, Quezon, Kalilangan, and Malaybalay received the 12,600 new children’s books.

“The Asia Foundation is proud to work with committed organizations like Del Monte Foundation in strengthening educational opportunities in these communities and the rest of the Philippines. Through this donation of books, we hope to inspire children and teachers to build a peaceful, competent, and a healthy society,” said Ky Johnson, Deputy Country Representative of The Asia Foundation.

The books were a mixture of science, math, and English-language elementary school books as well as reference materials. American publishing companies Pearson Education and McGraw-Hill Companies were among those that donated.

Thank you to The Asia Foundation, Del Monte Foundation and to all the American publishers that donated the books! Bukidnon schools really need them!
