The City Treasurer’s Office of Malaybalay City has been recognized after exceeding its 2025 Real Property Tax (RPT) collection target. The Malaybalay Treasurer collected more than Php 67.9 million against a goal of Php 65.7 million, achieving a 103% collection efficiency rate.

The recognition was presented during an awarding ceremony held on April 24, 2026 in Malaybalay City. The certificate was signed by the Provincial Governor and the Provincial Treasurer.

Official figures show that the City Treasurer’s Office collected Php 67,901,838.90 in RPT receipts for 2025, surpassing the target of Php 65,706,853.36 by more than Php 2.1 million. The 103% efficiency rating places Malaybalay City among the top-performing local government units in Bukidnon in terms of tax revenue compliance.

Real Property Tax is a key source of income for local governments in the Philippines, funding essential public services such as infrastructure, health, education, and social welfare programs. Higher RPT collection directly translates to a larger budget for local development projects and service delivery.

The achievement reflects the Malaybalay Treasurer’s Office’s sustained effort to improve tax compliance among property owners in Malaybalay, the capital city of Bukidnon. This includes initiatives to make tax payment more accessible and to encourage early settlement of RPT obligations, which local government units across the country have been actively promoting under the Local Government Code.

Malaybalay City, as the provincial capital, plays a central role in Bukidnon’s administrative and economic landscape. Strong tax collection performance in the city contributes not only to local programs but also to the broader fiscal health of the province.
