Video taken at Malaybalay City Central Elementary School polling center

So the big day has finally arrived. October 25, 2010 – the day of the Barangay and SK elections. Here’s a video BukidnonOnline.com took after we voted today. Our polling precinct, as always, is at the Malaybalay City Central Elementary School. Notice anything?

We did.

– only a handful of voters at polling precincts
– no policemen or security personnel at the gate of the school except for one who didn’t man the entrance at all. Instead, he was busy talking to some people at a corner.
– people who have already finished voting loiter at the polling centers (why the election inspectors didn’t reprimand them, we will never know!)

AND

– an agent of Globe Telecoms was busy handing out flyers/leaflets at the entrance of the polling precincts

While that MAY not be illegal, we found that move VERY, VERY TACKY.

We don’t like it when companies try to take advantage of obviously important days in order to sell whatever it is they want to sell.

AND OH…we also spotted A LOT of candidates a few meters away from the polling precincts. Just so everyone knows, COMELEC says candidates SHOULD be AT LEAST 100 METERS away from polling centers.

Boo you! (and yes, we took photos of you!)
