Second COVID death recorded in Malaybalay

A senior citizen is the second and latest fatality of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. This was confirmed by the Malaybalay City Government via an October 6, 2020 advisory.

The senior citizen, an 85 year old female resident of Purok 1, Barangay Sumpong, was identified as confirmed case number 90.

She was hospitalized due to pneumonia on Sept. 21 to 23. She was admitted again at a private hospital within the city on Oct. 2 due to shortness of breath.

The patient’s Rapid Test results indicated she was both IgG and IgM positive. She was also transferred to Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center (BPMC) immediately last October 2 but she died that same day. She was also buried at Bethel Baptist Cemetery evening that same day.

The Department of Health (DOH) released her swab test result on October 5, confirming she was positive of COVID-19.

As of October 6, Malaybalay has 91 total confirmed cases with 31 active cases in isolation facility, 58 recovered cases, and two deaths. (with a report from Bukidnon Online special correspondent Mel B. Madera)
