Bukidnon farmers benefit from Php 513 Million agri interventions

Around 18,134 farmers and 1,145 farmer associations and cooperatives in Bukidnon have reportedly received Php 513 million worth of agricultural
interventions from the Department of Agriculture (DA).

This was disclosed during the distribution of the said agricultural interventions held at Kaamulan Folk Arts Theatre, Kaamulan Park, Malaybalay City on February 12.

DA Secretary William D. Dar handed the agri-related livelihood interventions that included agri-machinery and technologies worth Php 197.10 million to Bukidnon Gov. Jose Ma. R. Zubiri, Jr. Of that said amount, the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization
(PhilMech) distributed Php 150.19 million worth of agri-machinery under the mechanization component of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF).

Additionally, Dar also turned over Php 315.2 million infrastructure development projects composed of five unit multi-purpose drying pavements with shed, solar-powered irrigation system, warehouse and
20.41 km. farm to market road.

“We want to work with you to see to it that the farmers and fisherfolk, together with the agripreneurs will now make the possibility in unlocking agriculture potentials of the rural areas,” Dar said. (with a report from Bukidnon Online correspondent Mel B. Madera)
