Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Jose Cabantan has warned priests, religious and the lay faithful against a group calling itself the Order of Apostolican Missionaries (OAM) whose members are allegedly asking for donations and unscrupulously soliciting money from the public.

The archbishop, in a letter dated February 14, 2022, said that OAM claims they have a Mission House in Malaybalay City and a Formation House in Cagayan de Oro. However, upon verification with the Catholic Directory of the Philippines and the Chancery Office of Malaybalay, OAM does not exist apparently.

Cabantan then cautioned the faithful to exercise extra vigilance against the said bogus group.

The archbishop also urged the public to report any incidents of solicitations to their chancery office.
