Sugar planters assoc official slain in Maramag
Two unidentified male assailants shot to death a sugarcane planters association official at Purok 9, Zone 1, Brgy. North Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon.
Acting Maramag Municipal Police Chief Lt. Col. Casan Ali said that the incident happened at around 9:30 AM on August 16.
The victim was identified as Virgilio Renegado y Hubac Jr., 45, married, Planters Relation Officer of United Sugar Planters Bukidnon Association Inc. (USPBAI), and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. North Poblacion, Maramag. Renegado sustained a fatal gunshot wound on his head. He was immediately brought to Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Maramag by the ambulance of Crystal Sugar Milling Corp., but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was riding his motorcycle from home heading for work at USPBI inside the compound of Crystal Sugar Milling Corp. Allegedly, Renegado was flagged down by the two suspects and suddenly shot him once in the head using a cal .45 pistol.
Police Col. Jun Marl J. Lagare, provincial director of Bukidnon Provincial Police Office (BPPO) has ordered Police Lt. Col. Ali of Maramag to conduct a thorough investigation to identify the suspects who fled after the incident and to determine the motive of the crime.
