Proposed Bukidnon Fourth District now approved in Lower Congress

BUKIDNON ONLINE | BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON UPDATES | PROVINCE OF BUKIDNON | BUKIDNON FOURTH DISTRICT – Lower Congress or the House of Representatives has recently approved an act re-apportioning the Province of Bukidnon into 4 legislative districts. Bukidnon Second District Congressman Florencio Flores, Jr. confirmed this with BukidnonOnline.com.

This means that the proposal filed before the Lower Congress for Bukidnon to have 4 districts has now been approved and will be forwarded to the Senate.

Once the Senate approves it, President Benigno Aquino III needs to sign it into law.

Currently, Bukidnon only has 3 legislative districts. Rep. Jess Paras is the congressman of Bukidnon First District. Rep. Florencio Flores, Jr. is the congressman of Bukidnon Second District while Rep. Joey Zubiri is the congressman of Bukidnon Third District.

The bill proposing for 4 Bukidnon districts was filed by Congressman Flores last September 5, 2011 and is docketed as House Bill No. 5236. All 3 Bukidnon congressmen co-authored the bill. The bill was approved on third reading early October 2011.

The proposed Bukidnon 4th District will be composed of Valencia City, Pangantucan and Kalilangan.
