Pimentel says no to Zubiri

Can you imagine Senator Koko Pimentel and former Senator Miguel Zubiri campaigning together for the 2013 elections?

Because Pimentel sure can’t.

Senator Koko Pimentel recently said that he does not want Zubiri to be included among the senatorial candidates under the UNA coalition. Pimentel said that he has sent a formal letter detailing his opposition to the inclusion of Zubiri.

Truth be told, we can’t blame Pimentel if he still can’t let bygones be bygones.

If you guys still remember, a joint committee of the Commission on Elections and Department of Justice charged former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former Maguindanao Governor Andal Ampatuan Sr. and former Comelec officer Lintang Bedol for electoral sabotage in November 2011. The charges were related to the alleged fraudulent 2007 election in Maguindanao. Zubiri was proclaimed the 12th senatorial winner of that election. In August 2011, Zubiri resigned as Senator but not without hinting that he will “try again.”

The questions now are:

1. Will UNA listen to Pimentel’s request to not include Zubiri?

2. Will Bukidnon still support Zubiri, who now has joined the forces of Erap Estrada et al?

3. Will Bukidnon rally behind Pimentel?

What do you think?
