Malaybalay Mayor Flores receives first COVID-19 vaccination shot

Malaybalay City Mayor Florencio Flores, Jr. received his first COVID-19 jab during the launch of the second wave of the mass vaccination rollout for senior citizens.

The move was said to be Flores’ effort to lead by example and urge public confidence on the COVID-19 vaccine.

The second rollout set on May 3, 2021 was granted by the Department of Health (DOH) Region 10 after the City has achieved 95 percent inoculation of medical frontliners tagged as the first priority A1.

This time, senior citizens, being next in line priority, were allocated an initial total of 1,000 Sinovac shots of vaccine for the first week of May.

The vaccination was held at the ESA, Barangay 4, Malaybalay City.

Based on the earlier report of the City’s COVID-19 Vaccination Plan, senior citizens belong under the A2 priority group, which has an expected total population of around 13,000.
