Huervas, Garcia presence at Marcos Bukidnon rally has BPP blessing – Zubiri

They were there because they are, after all, city officials. This was what Bukidnon 3rd District and gubernatorial aspirant Manuel “Manoy” Zubiri said about the presence of 2 Bukidnon Paglaum Party (BPP) candidates at the BBM – Sara Duterte rally held in Valencia City Sunday.

Valencia City Mayor Azucena P. Huervas, who is up for re-election, and Valencia City Councilor Atty. Oliver Owen “Babba” Garcia, who is gunning for the Bukidnon 4th District congressional seat, were at the said rally, which saw the attendance of Sandro Marcos, Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.’s son.

The young Marcos represented his father. Meanwhile, Tingog Party List 2nd Nominee Jude Acidre, Lakas-CMD party president Martin Romualdez, who represented vice presidential candidate Inday Sara Duterte, Bukidnon 4th District Rep. Oneil Roque and Bukidnon 2nd District Rep. Atty. John Flores were also present. Roque is set to face Zubiri for the gubernatorial position and his wife is set to face Garcia for the congressional position. Roque and Flores have also formed an alliance.

Manoy Zubiri said that there isn’t any issue and that Huervas and Garcia’s presence had the blessing of BPP. He said that the two are officials of a city that played host to guests.

“Besides, the party hasn’t formally decided yet on whom to support in the 2022 elections,” he said, adding that there is still need to “discern.”

“We are still several months away from the elections. We need to remember that we will elect public servants who will lead us for the next 6 years. We have to pray and discern because the future of our children is at stake,” he added.

News reports estimate that about 15,000 people were at the Valencia City Oval.
