Flores shifts to Nacionalista Party, supports Roque candidacy
Bukidnon 2nd District Rep. Atty. Jonathan Keith Flores has officially announced that he has shifted allegiance and is now a member of the Villar-led Nacionalista Party (NP), the oldest political party in the Philippines.
Flores, who ran under the PDP Laban banner during the 2019 elections, now joins his father, Malaybalay City Mayor Florencio Flores, Jr. in NP. In his public statement released March 26, 2021, the younger Flores also said that the NP is allied with Hugpong ng Pagbabago, which was formed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte. Inday Sara visited Bukidnon during the 2019 campaigns and formally endorsed Flores and the rest of his Team Flores slate.
Flores’ shift to the NP also means that he is officially supporting the Bukidnon gubernatorial candidacy of fellow NP member Bukidnon 4th District Rep. Rogelio Roque.
The following is Congressman Atty. John Flores’ statement:
“I have officially taken my oath as a member of the Nacionalista Party, the oldest political party in the Philippines.
The Nacionalista Party is allied with Hugpong ng Pagbabago, formed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, which played an instrumental role in my first foray into politics.
I believe in the Nacionalista Party’s central tenet: “Ang Bayan Higit Sa Lahat.”
Today, more than ever, we need to remember that when we are united as a nation, there are no limits to what we can achieve. When we hold on to our unyielding faith and strength, when we continue to uphold national and cultural identity amid the changing of the times, and when we remember that we have roles to play in nation-building, we can attain peace, growth, and development. We can help build a better Philippines.
Lastly, as a Nacionalista Party member, this means that I am also officially supporting the candidacy of my fellow party member, Bukidnon 4th District Rep. Rogelio Neil Roque, who recently declared his intent to run for Bukidnon Governor in the upcoming 2022 national and local elections.”
