Coca Cola donates Little Red Schoolhouse in Bukidnon

Coca Cola Philippines recently donated a Php 4 Million Little Red Schoolhouse in Bukidnon. The Coca Cola Philippines Little Red Schoolhouse project aims to help eliminate the child labor practice. The Coca Cola Little Red Schoolhouse in Bukidnon can be found at the Annex of the Quezon National High School in Barangay Butong, Quezon, Bukidnon.

Bukidnon is said to be among the 4 areas in the Philippines that employ children as laborers. According to the International Labor Organizations, Bukidnon has about 2,500 child laborers and youth between 9 and 17 years old.

The 4-classroom Little Red Schoolhouse is seen to eliminate the child-labor practice in that agricultural rich-province in Northern Mindanao.

It is the 90th school building donated by Coca Cola Philippines.

The Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. (CCFPI) together with its program partners: the Sugar Industry Foundation, Inc. (SIFI); Bukidnon Sugar Company (BUSCO); Department of Education; the local government of Quezon Bukidnon; and the Quezon Manobo Tribal Association inaugurated the schoolhouse.
