Bukidnon solon Manuel “Manoy” Zubiri spearheads “Suga sa Katawhan” program
Bukidnon 3rd District Rep. Manuel “Manoy” F. Zubiri has begun implementing his “Suga sa Katawhan” program, which aims to distribute solar lamps to all of the 464 barangays in Bukidnon.
The Bukidnon solon disclosed this during the monthly meeting of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) – Bukidnon Chapter held last October 22, 2020 in Malaybalay City.
Zubiri said that his “Suga sa Katawhan” project is targeting to distribute 1,300 units of solar lamps to the 464 barangays of Bukidnon. He said that this will be done gradually or by batch.
“We have been distributing 50 solar lamps to our pilot barangays in the third district. The recipient barangays have had no expenses at all. Besides, the barangays are the ones that determine where the solar project should be placed,” Zubiri said.
He said that “Team Manoy” will provide and install the solar lights in the barangays.
Zubiri also clarified that the budget for the project is taken from his personal account – meaning from his salary, allowances and from his businesses.
“My brother, Sen. Juan Miguel F. Zubiri, and some of my friends are also donating cash for my project,” Manoy Zubiri said.
Meanwhile, “Team Manoy” also delivered a smart TV unit with cable connection to the Kibawe National High School.
