Bukidnon Online and MAFIA raise money for Typhoon Ondoy victims
Bukidnon Online (http://www.BukidnonOnline.com) – Your Bukidnon Community blog in cooperation with the Malaybalay’s Finest Artists (MAFIA) group successfully conducted its fundraiser for the benefit of the victims of Tropical Storm Ondoy (international code name: Ketsana) last September 30, 2009 at Escoto Store, Barangay 2 (fronting Belyca Badminton Court), Magsaysay Street, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.
The organizers were able to raise P1,500.00 during the roughly 6 hour-event.
Bukidnon Online, on the other hand, true to its commitment of using the power of technology to try and spur change, matched the said amount.
Hence, the total amount raised during that Wednesday fundraiser was P3,000.00
The full amount was duly turned over to the Red Cross – Bukidnon chapter. Seen in this photo, which was taken by Mindanaoan, is Red Cross Bukidnon Chapter OIC Jocelyn Daroy giving the official receipt to MAFIA president Erik Dave Beltran.
During the event, various MAFIA bands performed for free. Hundreds of people came all through the night but the largest delegation came from Bukidnon State University – specifically the students under the mentorship of Reina, a Malaybalayan.
