Bukidnon fire protection office declared best in region…and why we think it’s ironic

BUKIDNON NEWS | GOVERNMENT – Came across this piece of news last night. Guess what we immediately thought right after we read the article? We remembered the Jardinico case (where 12 family members died after their house was razed to ashes) and the unfortunate fires that consumed not only the Valencia City Public Market but the temporary stalls in front of Gaisano Valencia City last year. Pretty ironic, really.

You see, the Bukidnon Fire Protection Office was reportedly awarded as the “Best Provincial Office of the Year.”

Didn’t we say it’s ironic?

The Office of the Provincial Fire Marshall in Bukidnon, led by C/Insp. Franklin Ratunil, was adjudged the Best Provincial Office of the Year during the 37th Fire Service Recognition.

“The recognition of these personnel, who we consider as unsung heroes, is contained in the BFP-10 Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Resolution No. 2010-04,” Bureau of Fire Protection Regional Director Fire Sr. Supt. Florencio P. Tutor was reportedly quoted as saying.
