Bukidnon Consumer Welfare Month schedule of activities

In order to promote consumer welfare and broaden the scope of consumer education, DTI Bukidnon has lined-up several activities to mark this year’s celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month.

A radio program on the basic rights and responsibilities of the consumers will kick off the month long celebration.

This will be followed by the following:

The Consumer Welfare Month is observed each October by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 1098 issued in 1997. It is initiated by the NCAC created by Republic Act 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines to improve the management, coordination and effectiveness of consumer programs of various government agencies.

This year’s theme is “Sapat, Ligtas at Abot-kayang Pagkain para sa Lahat”. This is to highlight the food sufficiency program of the government and to provide quality and safe food to consumers. (DTI Bukidnon/Fam Villanueva)
