She may have graduated from the University of San Carlos in Cebu but Karen Mae Calam, the topnotcher of the 2016 Bar Examinations with a grade of 89.05 percent, actually hails from the Municipality of Kalilangan in Bukidnon.

Calam is also a proud product of the public elementary and high school in Kalilangan.

Karen Mae Calam takes the honor of besting over 6,000 other bar examinees.

Karen Mae Calam is engaged and is the daughter of the Kalilangan Hospital’s administrative head. She is the second professional in their family. Her sister is a doctor.
