Army says NPA’s ‘shadow gov’t’ in Bukidnon now dismantled
A reported “shadow government” or “Komiting Rebolusyonaryo sa Munisipalidad (KRM)” under Guerrilla Front 55 has been successfully dismantled last year, according to the 89th Infantry Battalion, 103rd Brigade of the Army’s 10th Infantry Division.
The military said that the said “shadow government” is under the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee of the New People’s Army in Bukidnon and covers at least 13 barangays with complete sets of officials – from mayor, vice mayor and seven sangguniang bayan members.
The barangays are in Kitaotao and San Fernando towns with Barangay Matupe as its center of governance.
The army disclosed this information during the turnover ceremony of makeshift schools for Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities held at Sitio Laburan, Brgy. Matupe, San Fernando, Bukidnon on August 4, 2020.
Two of the makeshift schools are located in Kitaotao town and five in San Fernando. (Report by Bukidnon Online special correspondent Mel Madera)
