3 alleged shabu users caught in the act in Valencia

Three men were caught in the act allegedly shabu inside a truck parked along ML Quezon Street, Brgy. Poblacion, Valencia City, Bukidnon at 12:30 AM on September 3, 2020.

Bukidnon Police Director Col. Roel L. Lami-ing identified the suspects as John Michael Ebcas, 21, with live-in partner, laborer, and a resident of Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City; Merlito Caparida y Baldoza, 24, single, laborer, and a resident of Agora, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro City, and Edwin Ignacio y Dela Peña, 37, married, driver, and resident of Purok 4, Brgy. Saray, Salay, Misamis Oriental.

Police authorities seized from the possession and control of the arrested persons several drug paraphernalia such as aluminum foil, plastic transparent cellophane with traces of suspected shabu, and others. The physical inventory was conducted at the place of arrest and witnessed by a Barangay Kagawad of Barangay Poblacion, Valencia City and a representative from the media.

The arrested suspects, together with the seized pieces of evidence, were brought to the Bukidnon Provincial Crime Laboratory in Malaybalay City.

Meanwhile, the Valencia City Police Station (VCPS) is already preparing a case for Violation of R.A. 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against the suspects.

The joint arresting police team was composed of operatives from the VCPS, Bukidnon 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, RID10, and Bukidnon Provincial Intelligence Unit Tracker Team. (Report by BukidnonOnline.com special correspondent Mel B. Madera)
