Military reports state that armed men recently ambushed a truck carrying mining workers in Impasug-ong, resulting in the death of two people. The ambush happened at Kalampigan in Barangay Calabugao, Municipality of Impasug-ong, Bukidnon.

The 4th Infantry Division (4ID) said that company guards of Chromites Mining Company, along with some workers, were on their way to Calabugao proper when gun men attacked them in broad daylight.

The company guards and mining workers were able to seek refuge in a nearby forested area. Two people were killed and three were wounded and were left behind.

The gunmen were able to bring with them three rifles initially carried by the mining company security guards.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive of the attack.
