Two hydroelectric plants to be put up in Manolo Fortich Bukidnon
BUKIDNON NEWS – Two hydroelectric power plants will be put up in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. These proposed Bukidnon power plants will be run-of-river hydroelectric power plants.
A memorandum of agreement was recently signed by Impasugong, Bukidnon Mayor Mario Okinlay, Hedcor Vice President for Business Development Boy Jabonillo and Barangay Guihean, Impasugong Chairman Ricardo Anlicao.
As to why Okinlay was one of the signatories, Hedcor, the developer of the power plants, said that the river and one of the proposed power plants would pass through the said Bukidnon municipality.
Hedcor, in their official press release, stated that they intend to build two cascading plants that will source power from the Amusig, Guihean, and Tanaon rivers.
The Manolo Fortich Hydro-1 will have a capacity of 35.2 megawatts (MW) and the Manolo Fortich Hydro-2 will generate 16.4 MW or a total capacity of 51.6 MW.
