Senatorial bet from Bukidnon reportedly alarmed over Villar’s jingle
BUKIDNON | BUKIDNON POLITICS | MANOLO FORTICH | BUKIDNON NEWS – “Nakaligo ka na ba sa dagat ng basura? Nagpasko ka na ba sa gitna ng kalsada?” We all know how that song goes. It’s Nacionalista Party standard bearer Sen. Manny Villar‘s famous (or infamous, however you choose to see it) jingle. While Villar’s supporters and other people who have adopted the LSS (last song syndrome) kick may like the jingle and may even often find themselves singing along, one senatorial candidate is not at all pleased.
Former Bukidnon 1st District congressman and now Liberal Party senatorial aspirant Nereus Acosta lamented the fact that even “lumad” children are now singing the Villar jingle.
Acosta said that it was a testament of just how powerful money is — Villar is a certified billionaire — and just how easy it is for the NP presidential candidate to spend money for advertising, TV and radio ads and other marketing collaterals.
Reportedly, Acosta got alarmed over the fact that children from the hinterlands (where obviously there are no “dagat”/rivers) are singing the line “nakaligo ka na ba sa dagat ng basura?”
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ACOSTA’S STATEMENTS?
