PROVINCE OF BUKIDNON – Opposition senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero has urged his countrymen to form a united front against the proposed Charter Change (ChaCha).

A press statement from the Office of the Senator sent to Bukidnon Online reads:

I urge the Filipino people, members of the opposition, and
cause-oriented groups to join forces against this last push for
Charter Change by allies of President Arroyo in the House of
Representatives.

Let us not be lulled into complacency by statements of Lakas officials
that they are purportedly preparing for the 2010 elections or that
there is no more time for amending the Constitution.

I urge everyone to be vigilant against veiled declarations whose real
purpose is to try to pull a fast one on the people, very much like a
magician who, through sleight of hand, convinces his audience to look
the other way while he performs his trickery.
