Sen. Chiz Escudero has decided but defers proclamation of candidacy
Much like the rest of the country, people in the Province of Bukidnon were also eyes and ears today because there were reports that Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero would make public (finally!) his intentions to run for president in the May 2010 national elections.
Unfortunately, no formal declaration was made.
Bukidnon Online learned from members of Escudero’s staff that the young senator deferred his announcement in deference to the victims of typhoon Pepeng (international code name: Parma).
Escudero, who turned 40 years old last October 10, 2009 (the minimum age required for a presidential candidate), was supposed to hold a press conference at noon today.
Escudero reportedly said he would not make any political announcement because this was not the right time to talk politics while many were suffering from the disaster brought about by the recent tropical storms.
Chiz Escudero is a member of the National People’s Coalition political party.
