SCHEDULE: Kaamulan Festival 2018 Bukidnon

Kaamulan Festival is the yearly gathering of the 7 hill tribes of Bukidnon namely Talaandig, Tigwahanun, Matigsalug, Higaonon, Bukidnon, Manobo and Umayamnun. A former Tourism Secretary even called it the only authentic ethnic festival in the Philippines. The Kaamulan Festival activities will be held in Malaybalay City, the capital of Bukidnon.

Kaamulan Festival 2018 Schedule of Activities

March 1, 23 and 24 – Ethnic Rituals to signal the start of the Kaamulan Festival 2018 celebration (the rituals will be done at both the Kaamulan Grounds in Malaybalay City and at Barangay Sumpong, Fortich Street)

March 1 to 24 – Kaamulan Indigenous Bazaar, Food Festival, Agri Fair, Garden Show, Bazaar, Culture and Arts Exhibit (all can be found at the Capitol Grounds in Malaybalay City, starts at 8 AM)

March 1 – Drum and Lyre and Bugle Competition (Capitol Grounds, 8 AM)

March 3 – Mountainbike Circuit Race (Capitol Compound, 8 AM)

March 3 and 4 – Kaamulan National Horse Show and Competition (Grandstand, 8 AM)

March 1 to 4 – Performance of local talents (Capitol Stage, 7 PM)

March 4 – Football Tournament (Capitol Grounds, 8 AM)

March 9 – Bukidnon Coffee Brands Launch (OTOP Pavilion, Capitol Grounds, 9 AM)

March 10 – San Miguel Beer-sponsored Night (Capitol Stage, 7 PM)

March 11 – Enduro Competition (Grandstand, 8 AM)

March 11 to 13 – Ethnic Sports / Tribal Wedding / Ethnic Olympics (Capitol Grounds, 8 AM)

March 11 to 12 – Chess Tournament (Bukidnon State University, 8 AM)

March 16 – Motocross Competition (Malaybalay Grandstand, 8 AM)

March 16 – Laga Ta Bukidnon (Miss Bukidnon) pageant coronation night (Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater, 7 PM)

March 17 – Fun Run (Malaybalay proper, 5 AM)

March 17 and 18 – Dart Tournament (Barangay 9, Malaybalay, 8 AM)

March 19 to 21 – Volleyball Cup (Valencia City, 8 AM)

March 20 – Globe Telecom-sponsored Night (Capitol Stage, 7 PM)

March 21 to 22 – Kaamulan Rodeo (Grandstand, 8 AM)

March 23 – Piniliyapan Hu Bukidnon – A Glimpse of Bukidnon (Kaamulan Folk Arts Theater, 7 PM)

March 24 – Kaamulan 2018 Ethnic Street Dancing Competition (contingents will pool at Barangay Sumpong, Fortich Street area. Traffic will be rerouted. Competition will begin at 6 AM)

March 24 – Fireworks Display (Capitol Grounds, 8 PM)

March 24 – Concert (Capitol Stage, 9 PM)
