Miami Heat head coach plans to conduct basketball clinic in Kibawe, Bukidnon

BUKIDNON NEWS | KIBAWE BUKIDNON | BUKIDNON ONLINE | SPORTS IN BUKIDNON – NBA team Miami Heat’s head coach, who happens to be a Filipino American, reportedly has plans to conduct basketball clinics in the Philippines by summer of next year. And guess where one of the much-anticipated basketball clinics will be held? Kibawe, Bukidnon – which happens to be Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s birth place.

Coach Erik Spoelstra was quoted as saying that talks are being finalized between his camp and Pacquiao’s camp with regard to the series of basketball clinics in the Philippines by 2011.

Spoelstra says that the project aims to promote sports and a healthy lifestyle among the Filipino youth, especially in Pacquiao’s hometown of Kibawe.

The Municipality of Kibawe is the world’s best pound for pound boxer’s birth place. He may have grown up in General Santos City and is now a representative of Sarangani but Manny Pacquiao has always made it a point to acknowledge Kibawe.

Pacquiao still has relatives here in Bukidnon. In fact, he regularly pays Bukidnon a visit.
