Manoy Zubiri, 4 others gun for Bukidnon guv

Bukidnon 3rd District Rep. Manuel Antonio “Manoy” F. Zubiri and 4 others are gunning for the Bukidnon gubernatorial seat. Zubiri, the standard-bearer of the ruling local political party in the province, Bukidnon Paglaum Party (BPP), submitted his certificate of candidacy at around 11:15 AM on October 1, 2021, the first day of filing.

BPP was created by Zubiri’s father, incumbent Governor Jose Ma. Zubiri, Jr. The elder Zubiri is set to run for the seat that will be vacated by his son Manoy.

The four other hopeful candidates for Bukidnon Governor are Rodrigo C. Tero, an Independent candidate, Andrew G. Eligan of the Labor Party of the Philippines (LPP), Bukidnon 4th District Rep. Oneil Roque and Edgar F. Mabilog, also an Independent candidate. Tero, a resident of Puntian, Quezon submitted his COC at around 2:04 p.m. on October 1. Eligan filed his on October 5 while Roque and Mabilog on October 8. Roque filed his COC under the banner of the People’s Reform Party.

Meanwhile, 3 aspirants are vying for the Vice Gubernatorial post. Manolo Fortich Mayor Clive Quino of BPP, Arturo Moreno of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and Leandro Catarata of Partido Pederal ng Maharlika will all gun for the VG seat.
