Manhunt of Bukidnon rape suspect ends in Pagadian
Authorities in the Philippines apprehended a man facing multiple rape charges in Bukidnon. The arrest, which took place earlier this week in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur, concluded a manhunt for the suspect.
Identified Suspect
45-year-old Jimmy Sotto Balaba, a resident of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, was apprehended by joint police forces from the Bukidnon Provincial Police Office and Police Regional Office-9. He is facing 10 counts of rape and statutory rape, according to reports from Police Regional Office-9 Director, Brig. Gen. Bowenn Joey Masauding.
Case Details and Arrest
Balaba had outstanding warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 45 in Malaybalay City. He was reportedly located in Barangay Tuburan, Pagadian City, where he had been residing for some time. The arresting officers presented him with copies of the warrants before taking him into custody without resistance.
Justice to be Served
Brig. Gen. Masauding confirmed that Balaba will not be granted bail at this time. He was transported back to Malaybalay City by police following his arrest to face the pending charges.
