Malaybalay releases new traffic and transport rules

The City Government of Malaybalay has released its updated Land Transportation and Traffic Management Code, which is set for strict implementation starting October 21, 2019.

The City Ordinance 900 series of 2019, which will be implemented by the Traffic Management Center, has spelled out the following provisions for strict implementation:

– no parking along Fortich Street (a.k.a. the main thoroughfare)

– no parking on the sidewalks

– no jaywalking

– illegal parking

There are also impoundable violations including:

– not wearing the prescribed helmet while driving or riding a motorcycle (however, if only the passenger isn’t wearing a helmet, the driver may ask the passenger to disembark to avoid the impoundment of the vehicle)

– motorcycles with open pipes of bora-bora mufflers

– cargo trucks without sufficient covers of their cargo

– colorum operation of PUVs, including motorelas and tricycles
