Malaybalay and Manolo Fortich get first automated swine fever disinfection systems in Mindanao
Malaybalay City and the Municipality of Manolo Fortich get the first automated disinfection systems meant to combat the African Swine Fever (ASF).
The two units, the first to be installed in Mindanao, are meant to improve the efficacy of the disinfection strategies and reduce reliance.
Automated disinfection systems have been placed at Malaybalay Stock Farm in Barangay Dalwangan, Malaybalay City and at the Alae Quarantine Station, Manolo Fortich.
A separate unit was also turned over to the Bukidnon provincial government for the additional animal biosafety system of the province. The unit is said to be worth Php 1.59 million.
Meanwhile, the regional office of the Department of Agriculture continues to ramp up its health and sanitation projects. Aside from Bukidnon, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental will also receive an automated disinfection system. More units will be acquired next year.
Bukidnon is one of the top pork producers in the Philippines.
