MALAYBALAY CITY | BUKIDNON NEWS – The Diocese of Malaybalay City has a new bishop – Fr. Jose Araneta-Cabantan. The new Malaybalay City bishop is the second one after Bishop Honest Ch. Pacana.

Cabantan was appointed by Pope Benedict XV.

The appointment was announced both in the Vatican and here in the Philippines.

Born in Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental in 1957, Cabantan was ordained to the priesthood in 1990.

A chemical engineer by profession, the new bishop also served as parish priest of the Miraculous Medal Parish in Cagayan de Oro City.
