Malacang declares October 31, 2011 as special non-working holiday

President Benigno Aquino III has issued Proclamation No. 84, dated 20 December 2010, declaring Tuesday, 1 November 2011, as a special (non-working) day.

However, since October 31, 2011 falls between Sunday and Tuesday and since November 1 has been traditionally declared a special non-working holiday throughout the Philippines anyway, Malacanang has now also declared October 31, 2011 as special non working holiday through the country.

The declaration of October 31, 2011 as special non working holiday aims to give full opportunity to the Filipino people to properly observe the day with all its religious fervor which invariably requires them to travel to and from different regions of the country.
