Groundbreaking ceremony for new center for tropical diseases held
MALAYBALAY CITY | BUKIDNON NEWS – Bukidnon Online first got hold of this great piece of development from Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri himself. During the recent Bukidnon visit of the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines (which was made possible by the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila, Consulate Office in Davao and by Mindanao-based public relations, new media, blogging and content provider ASTERISK Events and Communications), Senator Migs Zubiri told us that a building will be constructed this year and that this will house a treatment center for dengue and other tropical diseases. The building, he said, will be erected within the Bukidnon Provincial Medical Center area at Casisang, Malaybalay City.
The senator from Bukidnon even told Bukidnon Online that part of the reason why he decided to allot certain funds from his yearly budget for the construction of this building was because of the strong outcry from the public at the height of the dengue scare in the province. He also lauded Bukidnon Online for providing the platform for people to share their thoughts about that incident online.
Today, at around 2 pm in the afternoon, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new tropical disease center was held. Unfortunately, Bukidnon Online couldn’t cover since we all just got back from a 5-day trip abroad. So if any of you, our dear readers, have photos taken during the event, please feel free to share them with us 🙂
Sen. Zubiri’s staff also told Bukidnon Online that a press conference was held right after the groundbreaking ceremony.
Kudos to Senator Migs for this great project!
