Frankie Minoza – Bukidnon’s top golfer
The son of a former golf and country club greenskeeper, Frankie Minoza (born 29 December 1959) is a golfer from the Philippines. He is best known as Bukidnon’s pride and joy in the very competitive world of golf.
He has won a number of events in and around Asia and Japan. However, Frankie Minoza is arguably bst known for his astounding success on the much-publicized and much-talked about Japan Golf Tour.
Frankie Minoza was featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings in the year 1998.
In 2005, after losing his Japanese tour card, Frankie Minoza joined the Asian Tour for the first time since its formal establishment in 1995. He finished 27th on the Asian money list to retain his card and also regained his Japan Golf Tour card by finishing second at the qualifying school. In 2007 he won his second Philippine Open at the age of 46 to claim his first Asian Tour title.
During the off season, Frankie Minoza likes to hunt and spend a lot of time in his native Bukidnon
