UPDATED: Alleged Ex barangay 1 chairman in Malaybalay City nabbed for drugs
MALAYBALAY CITY | BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON – An alleged former barangay chairman of Barangay 1 in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon was recently arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency or PDEA.
According to this article published by the Journal newspaper, PDEA agents arrested former Malaybalay City barangay 1 chairman Riel Calisang. (Barangay 1 official Cromwell Kiril Dinlayan claims through a message sent to Bukidnon Online that they do not have a former barangay chairman named Calisang. Bukidnon Online would like to stress that the info came from the Journal newspaper and that the Journal’s source is even the PDEA CHIEF. Nevertheless, we are publishing Mr. Dinlayan’s comment here. We would also appreciate if the Barangay 1 officials and/or concerned constituents can also go out of their way to contact the Journal and even the PDEA Chief to correct the said info. Thank you. – Ed.)
Calisang, 40 years old, was arrested during a series of anti-narcotics operations.
According to the report, Calisang, along with fellow suspect 24 year old Andy Sobrado, sold shabu to an undercover officer in Barangay Cogon, Balingasag, Misamis Oriental.
Authorities reportedly found and confiscated a packet of shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia as well as a motorcycle used by the two suspects.
