Duterte invited to grace Kaamulan Festival 2019

President Rodrigo Duterte has again been invited to grace the Kaamulan Festival, the annual festival that aims to gather Bukidnon’s 7 hill tribes. Last year, Duterte was the guest of honor.

Bukidnon District 2 Board Member Atty. Nemesio “Jun” Beltran, Jr. told Bukidnon Online that the provincial government once again extended the invitation to the President.

“No confirmation yet but we’re hoping he will come,” Beltran said.

Duterte will most likely attend the program during the Ethnic Street Dancing Competition and Float Parade in Malaybalay City.

The President may also likely bring along with him some PDP – Laban candidates to the May 13, 2019 elections including his former Special Assistant, Bong Go.

Go has been slowly making his presence felt in Bukidnon through distribution of notebooks with his name on them. PDP – Laban’s official candidate for Bukidnon District 2 Congressman, Atty. John Flores, and his team have been helping distribute the notebooks.

Meanwhile, supporters of Atty. John Flores are also asking the President to publicly endorse Flores especially since he is the party’s official candidate.

“Bukidnon District 2 needs someone qualified to be the voice in Congress. President Duterte must have seen how a great public servant he can be that’s why he’s the official candidate of the President’s political party,” representatives of the Malaybalay Youth Catalysts said, adding that Bukidnon-born Flores is a hardworking lawyer, a fitness enthusiast and is a good role model for the youth.

Flores is the son of incumbent Rep. Florencio “Doc Boy” Flores, who is running for Malaybalay City mayor this May 2019 elections.
