DILG awards Seal of Good Local Governance to Malaybalay City
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) in a conferment ceremony held in Manila recently, highlighting the Local Government Code’s 25th Anniversary celebration.
In Malaybalay City, meanwhile, City Administrator and SGLG Chair Herculano S. Ronolo, formally presented the award to city officials and employees during the convocation program. Ronolo lauded the collaborative efforts of city government’s men and women in different divisions who tirelessly complied with all the parameters in order to pass in the six core areas as embodied in the awards criteria.
The ‘Seal’ is an award and incentive program that drives local government units to improve services by assessing good governance standards and practices. The SGLG Award entitles Malaybalay LGU to receive the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) of P3M to P5M as incentive, depending on the DILG’s subsidy distribution scheme. Ronolo said that the ‘Seal’ is a performance-based incentive for local governments that promote good financial housekeeping, disaster preparedness, social protection, business-friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management, and peace and order.
