BukidnonOnline.com accepts donations for flash flood victims – want to share your blessings?

We know you’ve heard of the devastating news. Some people died, including kids, because of the recent landslide in Sitio Hangaron, Barangay Lumbayao, Valencia City, Bukidnon. As of Monday, 5 bodies have been recovered in both Barangay Lumbayao and Barangay Tongan-Tongan — these are two of the areas affected by the landslide. The victims from Lumbayao were Maritess Lagunay, Segundina Lagunay and Sheryl Sadsad. Victims from Tongan-Tongan were Joy Collamar, 7, and Roque Santilla, 6.

The body of Sadsad, whose husband is a friend of my brother’s, was cut in half. As of this writing, the other half of her body has yet to be found. Such devastating news indeed.

Reports say that the widening of the national road in Barangay Lumbayao is one of the factors that may have triggered the deadly landslide.
