BukidnonOnline.com accepts donations for flash flood victims – want to share your blessings?
We know you’ve heard of the devastating news. Some people died, including kids, because of the recent landslide in Sitio Hangaron, Barangay Lumbayao, Valencia City, Bukidnon. As of Monday, 5 bodies have been recovered in both Barangay Lumbayao and Barangay Tongan-Tongan — these are two of the areas affected by the landslide. The victims from Lumbayao were Maritess Lagunay, Segundina Lagunay and Sheryl Sadsad. Victims from Tongan-Tongan were Joy Collamar, 7, and Roque Santilla, 6.
The body of Sadsad, whose husband is a friend of my brother’s, was cut in half. As of this writing, the other half of her body has yet to be found. Such devastating news indeed.
Reports say that the widening of the national road in Barangay Lumbayao is one of the factors that may have triggered the deadly landslide.
According to officials, the families of the victims will be given P10,000 each as provided by law. However, we all know that this is not enough.
And so BukidnonOnline.com is taking action.
Much like all the other fundraising projects we’ve spearheaded in the past, we will again accept donations in cash.
Donations in kind will be coursed through the Provincial Social Welfare/Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
Your donations will all go to the victims of the Bukidnon landslide. BukidnonOnline.com will personally ensure that all donations will go to the right people.
So please, if you want to share your blessings, please give any amount for the victims of the landslide.
