Bukidnon congressman warns erring medical oxygen traders, scammers
Bukidnon Second District Rep. Atty. John Flores issued a warning against erring individuals and businesses engaged in the trade or supply of medical oxygen.
Flores said that his office received reports of “medical oxygen suppliers/traders taking advantage of the current surge in demand as well as unscrupulous individuals who post fake and/or misleading information about available oxygen tanks or refill services.”
“I STRONGLY CONDEMN SUCH ACTS. These heartless, shameless individuals and/or businesses that scam our fellowmen at such a delicate time SHOULD NEVER have a place in our community,” Flores warned.
Numerous online posts indicate that many have fallen prey to scammers claiming they have available medical oxygen tanks or refill services. The victims say that after sending payment to the online sellers, they can no longer contact them or the scammers blocked them on social media.
Meanwhile, some traders have allegedly increased their prices – some double and some even triple the original price. Numerous netizens, most of whom have loved ones afflicted with the coronavirus disease, complained that they can barely afford the medical oxygen supply because of the prices.
