Bukidnon board member Lago dies, replacement named
BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON ONLINE | BUKIDNON NEWS ONLINE | MANOLO FORTICH BUKIDNON – A few days after the death of Bukidnon First District Board Member Rogelio Lago, Bukidnon Online News found out that a possible replacement has already been identified.
According to Lago’s fellow board member Clive Quino, Atty. Evelio Cordovez of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon will replace Lago. In a message sent to Bukidnon Online, Board Member Clive Quino said that Cordovez, a former board member and Manolo Fortich councilor from 2001 to 2010, is the main nominee to succeed the post left by Lago. The identification of Cordovez as replacement for Lago was based on the local government code, according to Quino.
Cordovez ran for board member in the 2010 elections but failed to secure a seat.
Lago, a former mayor of the Municipality of Baungon before he became a board member, died last August 8, 2012. According to Bukidnon Online’s sources at the Capitol, Lago reportedly died of COPD or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 56.
