Impasugong Bukidnon mining site attacked, 3 killed, 7 injured
Lest that we sound “sirang plaka” here but really, IS BUKIDNON STILL SAFE?!
All the things we’ve been hearing as of late are really negative, disheartening stuff!
We would like to know if the provincial government is doing something about this please!
Here’s another disappointing piece of news:
According to a news report, suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels attacked a mining site in Bukidnon province, particularly at the Municipality of Impasugong.
As a result, 3 miners were killed and 7 others got injured. Authorities are still looking for one missing worker.
The miners were reportedly working at the Nano Mines Trading mining site in Barangay Kapitan Bayong, Impasugong, Bukidnon.
The miners who reportedly died were:
Raymond Castro, Jose Castro and Victor Aparellas
“The rebels also took away some food supplies and miners’ belongings,” Reyes said, adding the wounded workers were brought to the hospital.
Meanwhile, Rodello Cabaling, Mervin Penira, Alfie Cubison, Rey Soriano, Glen Jarnais, Alan Barandales and Brendo Buagan were rushed to a hospital.
According to authorities, some 70 NPA insurgents attacked the mining site, using firearms of different calibers.
