Only in BukidnonOnline.com – Senators at work – photos of Bukidnon senators Zubiri and Guingona at the Senate
PHOTOS | BUKIDNON ONLINE | BUKIDNON NEWS – I had the chance to visit the Senate a few days ago. My primary agenda was to leave a letter at the Office of Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri and follow something up at the Office of Francis “Chiz” Escudero. As it turned out, I got a hold of Sen. Chiz’s staff pretty early so I ended up just waiting at Sen. Migs’ office instead. He arrived a few minutes later – all dressed up in a suit and armed with a smile. I was sitting on a couch beside 3 girls who were busy planning to have their photos taken with the senator. As soon as he entered the office, I also stood up but made way for the ladies so that they can have their photos taken. Imagine my surprise when Senator Migs looked up, saw me and called my name! Yup, my first name ๐ I actually haven’t seen him in months (probably even a little over a year now) so I wasn’t expecting that he’d recognize me right away but he did ๐ He then told me to accompany him and we talked. More updates about my talk with Senator Migs in the next few days…in the meantime, please allow me to thank Senator Migs for the warm welcome and for “that thing” ๐ You will all know all about it pretty soon ๐
Fast forward half an hour later, I sat at the Senate staff area at the plenary hall and witnessed that day’s sessions. It was the very same day that Senator Miriam Santiago delivered her uber controversial jueteng expose. Senator Migs also delivered a speech that day. He tackled the ongoing water crisis and told everyone one alarming fact – that the Angat Dam, one of the largest dams in the country, has leaks (!!!) and has been incurring major seepage all these years. The senator then warned everyone that something concrete should be done before a major catastrophe happens. I’m hoping that Senator Migs’ call will be heard.
Here are some photos I took during the session. I also spotted neophyte Senator Teofisto Guingona III. No, I didn’t have the chance to speak with him.
