2 Bukidnon churches closed due to COVID-19 death of priest

A priest in Bukidnon died of COVID-19 last May 1, 2021 and another priest got infected. This resulted in the closure of 2 churches in the Municipality of Libona and Municipality of Manolo Fortich.

Fr. Virgilio Delfin, spokesperson of the Diocese of Malaybalay, said Fr. Deomedis Brigoli, a parish priest in Libona, died due to COVID-19 complications at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) in Cagayan de Oro City.

Meanwhile, another parish priest, Fr. Pablo Salengua, contracted the virus and is currently confined at the NMMC.

The Diocese of Malaybalay has closed the Nazareno church in Libona and the Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Manolo Fortich.

Fr. Delfin said that the closure is indefinite.
