The stand of the 3 Bukidnon congressmen on RH Bill
BUKIDNON ONLINE | BUKIDNON NEWS | BUKIDNON POLITICS | CONGRESSMEN OF BUKIDNON – Plenary debates on the controversial Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population and Development Act of 2011 or simply known as the RH Bill have begun. Several congressmen have already made their position heard — Rep. Roilo Golez is against the proposed RH Bill. So is Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao. Meanwhile, Rep. Janet Garin and of course, Rep. Edcel Lagman are for the passage of the RH Bill. In fact, Lagman has already faced a few congressmen yesterday at the plenary – one of whom was Rep. Amado Bagatsing. Bagatsing even had one memorable line during the debates — he said that using contraceptives to prevent pregnancy is abortion. Yup, we got confused there, too.
Anyways, Bukidnon Online decided to ask the stand of the 3 Bukidnon congressmen on the controversial reproductive health bill.
Bukidnon First District Congressman Jess Paras told BukidnonOnline.com via text message that he was pro-life. He said he intends to vote against the passage of the RH Bill.
When asked by the Bukidnon blogger why he was against the RH Bill, Rep. Jess Paras had this to say: “Because we need to protect the unborn child.”

Bukidnon Second District Congressman Florencio Flores, Jr., on the other hand, told BukidnonOnline.com that he was “pro-RH.”
Bukidnon Third District Congressman Joey Zubiri, meanwhile, is also pro-RH.
This means that two Bukidnon congressmen will vote for the passage of the Reproductive Health Bill. Only one will vote against it.
