Seven contingents to vie during Kaamulan Festival 2009 Ethnic Street Dancing contest
BUKIDNON – A total of seven (7) contingents will compete during the Province of Bukidnon‘s Kaamulan Festival 2009 Ethnic Street Dancing competition this Saturday, March 7, 2009, according to Kaamulan 2009 Chief Coordinator May Flor Beltran-Intong.
The contingents will come from the cities of Malaybalay and Valencia and from the towns of Cabanglasan, Kalilangan, San Fernando, Malitbog and Quezon.
Authentic members of a particular Bukidnon tribe will also be a part of some of the contingents. Each competing group will also have a float.
The Kaamulan streetdancing competition will start at 7 am at the Barangay Sumpong area of Malaybalay City (along Fortich Street). Contingents will pass through Fortich Street, Malaybalay City’s main thoroughfare. The ground presentation will then take place at the Capitol Grounds, Malaybalay City.
Traffic along Fortich Street will be rerouted and as thousands of people are expected to gather in Malaybalay City for the streetdancing competition and other activities this Saturday, security has been tightened, according to Intong. (Bukidnon News and Updates)
