Rebels posed as policemen raid Valencia security agency, kidnap soldier

Suspected members of the New People’s Army (NPA), largely recognized as a notorious rebel group, raided a security agency in Valencia City, Bukidnon and even nabbed an off-duty soldier.

The suspects, who even disguised themselves as police officers, raided the DASIA Security Agency at Juanilla Subdivision, Barangay Poblacion and kidnapped the still unnamed soldier, who was outside DASIA’s office.

According to the 4th Infantry Division, the suspects seized several firearms including 2 AK-47 rifles, two M16s, two shotguns and three .38 revolvers as well as personal items.

They were able to escape using DASIA’s armored vehicles plus a van.

The soldier was riding his motorcycle, with his wife as passenger. The rebels took him but left the woman in a muddy area.

Authorities say there were about 15 rebels.

The two armored vehicles were later found abandoned in Barangay Poblacion, Municipality of Quezon.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested a certain Luvimin Rosos, a suspected NPA informant, during pursuit operations.

Found inside Rosos’ rented room in Quezon, Bukidnon were surveillance cameras, camera card containing footages taken of DASIA, night vision goggles, sniper’s veil, medical kits, cellphone, subversive documents and camouflage raincoat.

Authorities believe Rosos was the lookout of the group.
